Celeste Bliss is teacher with Sky Candy, as well as a native Texan and circus enthusiast.  She is Sky Candy’s very first Resident Performer who has been promoted to teacher status.

She grew up belly dancing and at the age of 11 she started taking ballet, modern, and jazz classes. She started her circus career training on silks and since then has branched out to lyra solo/double, contortion, solo/double trapeze, and rope (her favorite). Her current solo act is on rope and uses mallakhamb which is a sport in India on rope and pole. And her current duo acts are on trapeze with Xochitl, their called Duo Volee; and on lyra with Bethany (although they do perform on other apparatuses according to the event).

Her major performances include AIR at the Vortex where she played a butterfly and The Red Shoes with Sky Candy where she danced and performed on lyra and silks. But she has performed at events all over Austin. Celeste danced in Voices with Ballet East and All Things Animate with Lorn McDougal. In the 2010 Middle Eastern Dance Troupe Competition she won 1st place in the duet category with her partner Sonya Taft. She has also danced for film with Sky Candy members Bethany and Andy. Celeste aspires to go to circus school next year.

She wants to thank her Sky Candy family, especially her partner and dear friend Bethany Summersizzle, for sharing in her passions and always supporting her.
