Chelsea

Chelsea Laumen is a professional performance artist and teacher. Chelsea has trained and performed aerial tissue with the Santa Fe based WiseFool New Mexico, another nonprofit organization specializing in circus, puppetry and theatre. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre from the College of Santa Fe, where she studied acting, contact improvisation, the Alexander technique, and dramaturgy.

In her hometown of Houston, Chelsea was privileged to study the forms of ballet, modern, jazz, and social dance as a youth. Upon her return to Texas she has showcased her aerial talents in the Texas club (and church) scene. She is always happy to find new collaborators and venues in which to create and muddle genres into the absurd and wondrous.

Since co-founding Sky Candy, Chelsea has directed and choreographed THE RED SHOES, Sky Candy’s first full length theatrical production.
